There are other methods that are more up-close and personal, such as strangling, hanging, beating, be-heading, electrocution, being broken on a wheel, or cutting the heart out.
Then, there are some more impersonal methods like drowning, gassing, burning, starvation, poison, and being buried alive.
However, when you're stoning someone, everyone in the mob gets a chance to deliver a death blow. It offends our western sensibilities because we like to kill in private. We have a quaint set of rules, and a specific order of operations. You might read about an execution in the newspaper. We give our monsters a great big shot of drugs, and then avoid mentioning the execution as a deterrent to any other monsters.
But it's no big deal. Just look at the way Ronald Reagan treated his own people, and how his "trickle-down" rule has been enforced ever since. It's Darwinism in reverse. The subhuman brutes like George W. Bush and Dick Cheney seize all the wealth and power, and leave the people to die in the ditch. It's all routine. Don't concern yourself.
